Sustainable Timber Resources

The Estate woodlands at Mostyn, Flintshire, and the Gloddaeth woodlands at Llandudno, Conwy, have been in the Mostyn family since 1400 AD.

With active management dating back several hundred years these woodlands have been able to produce a sustainable timber resource for the Estate.

Home grown oak beams incorporated into the buildings of Mostyn Hall in 1552 are still as strong and sound as they were when lifted into place by the builders of the Tudor period.

Mostyn Estate woodlands are predominantly ancient or ancient semi-natural woodlands. They are managed in accordance with Forestry Commission guidelines to enhance visual and environmental features and to grow good commercial timber for the future.

All timber can be sawn to your requirements, from large section oak beam and joist to a selection
of native hardwood board.

Gate posts are always available
in oak or softwood and general softwood timber is carried in stock.

Suppliers of home grown Welsh hardwood

Within these broadleaf woodlands all timber is carefully selected for felling
or thinning. These areas are then replanted with native species to produce
a sustainable hardwood timber resource for the future.
